Perhaps time limit constrained.
I.e. I edit a page and include a revision summary message. I notice the message contains an error which should be fixed, but can't.

I would even go further: Ability for admins to edit summary (without any time limit).
And the ability to search through summaries would be great as well.

I don't think they should be editable. They are part of the audit trail. They should be as immutable as possible. And I don't think they need to be searchable, though I can see how that could be handy sometimes - but it's not worth the effort of implementing it IMHO.

One use case: I think they should be editable to prevent spam or swear words to be sort of public. Spam in summary already happens sometimes. Although we don't care about swear words etc, others might. And then there was this one case where an over-long summary caused a PHP error. (Although that won't happen anymore, because you fixed it, we don't know what other similar things could go wrong.)

This could be implemented in some kind of plugin, eliminating the need for changes in DokuWiki itself.
