FS#2470 the new mediamanager display as a normal page should be optionnal
Media Management

The new mediamanager looks great on the default dokuwiki theme, but when the dokuwiki theme have a larger header and/or footer or a column menu, the display of this new mediamanager is not so good.
We shoud have an option to let the administrator of the wiki choose how to display this new mediamanager, in the current theme page template or in the mediamanager page template page permiting custom header and footer (on a new window).

I understand what the problem is (and I agree), but I don't fully understand what your proposed solution is?
Maybe a solution is to have a fourth template type (additional to main, detail and mediamanager), so that template authors have full control over how to display the whole page.

Actualy the mediamanager template is just "<html><body><div left><?php include mediatree ?></div><div right><?php incude mediacontent ?></div></body></html>". There is no real need for a new template.
A simple solution could be to use only one include and not two, controling which version of the mediamanager we want to display.

It should be easy for template authors to change the appearance of the full-page mediamanager. Just add "mode_<?php echo $ACT ?>" to a class high up on main.php like the new default template does and you can re-style anything you like using '.mode_media' in front of your CSS rules.
