It would be nice to have a possibility for admin to get an email if there is a new registered user.
E.g.:
New user auto set to @user.
@user has no other possibility than to read.
Admin must check, if the new user is ok.
After that, admin switches the new user to e.g. @writer.
The thing behind is to get a new writer in the boat (register) than check if the user is ok for the wiki and than to allow the user to do, what he wants to do.
It's a different way than ask the admin for an user account.
It could be implemented like this:
in auth.php
after //okay try to create the user [line: 484] (..)}

I've just written a small patch to achive just that. Is is attached to this comment. Upstream has been notified.
