FS#766 No syntax in tables
Syntax
2006-03-24Xan
When we type:
| * Hello | Hi |
Then the unordered list is not recognized and the "*" is displayed as "*" and not as list
The same for the rest of the syntax.
MoinMoin allows it, for example
Xan.

This also applies to syntax plugins and makes table formatting a pain, if you want to avoid line breaks. At least a general substitution for non-breaking spaces would be helpful for tables.
Example - a tabular list of product descriptions:
^Name ^OS ^Comment ^
|Product Version 1.1 |Windows XP|A long Description for this product |
|Another one 2.0 |Linux 2.4 |Another long Description |
So - if the text in the last column is a bit longer, the browser automatically wraps the text in the shorter columns as well - so the "1.1" may appear in the second line. First, i tried to solve this by using the nbsp-Plugin and writing "Product\ Version\ 1.1". However - since syntax does not work within table cells, the plugin is also not called.
