FS#490 LDAP superuser auth_getUserData
ACL & Authentication
2005-08-01
I was using a superuser ldapread to connect to my Active Directory server. But it wasn't possible to read the UserData for other users to show the givenName in "Recent Changed" for example.
Reason:
auth_getUserData assumes that a non-binded user can read the Active Directory data.
Solution:
I copied the binding code from checkPass to auth_getUserData:
if(!empty($cnf['binddn']) and !empty($cnf['bindpw'])) {
//use superuser credentials
if(!ldap_bind($conn,$cnf['binddn'],$cnf['bindpw'])){
if($cnf['debug']) msg('LDAP errstr: '.htmlspecialchars(ldap_error($conn)),0);
return false;
}
}
Please consider this problem in your next release.

Can you check issue FS#751 as it deals with a fix for LDAP group handling.
