  Hi,
  
  I successfully use mod_rewrite for nice urls. Now I want it a bit nicer ...
  
  I have dokuwiki in a subdirectory called 'dokuwiki'. I now want that subdir removed from the url.
  
  http://www.domain.com/dokuwiki/namespace/article
  
  should be:
  
  http://www.domain.com/namespace/article
  
  is that possible?

  If your mod_rewrite is set up correctly it should be enough to overide basedir autodetection by setting $conf['basedir']='/'
