FS#408 search engine using indexing
The current search engine is good but slow, especially if you've got 200+ pages. To me, the search engine is the weak point for scalability. Could the performance be improved by some sort of indexing?
Yes, also with less pages it's really slow. I tried to comment out all ACL-items but it only improves it a little bit. An index would be nice, but would only be really useful if the index will be updated every change. I tried with phpdig, but indexing the whole bunch is not really fast.
I've started to use dokuwiki for a personal "knowledge base" and I am already worried about search performance as the number of articles add up. Using some indexing for the search is by far on top of my wish list.
As it's now implemented in the actual devel, how could it be used? It seems there has to be created an index-file. How do I do the initial indexing?
