I use namespaces and subnamespaces on my site. If a user attempts to access a subnamespace without logging in they get the Permission Denied Screen (so far so good), but then if they click on the Login button from the Permission Denied screen, the Permission Denied Screen, rather than the login form, continues to load. This does not happen if they attempt to access a first level namespace...only a subdirectory.

Are you sure you use the current devel version? I couldn't reproduce the described behaviour.

Well ?do=check tells me you are using the last release not the devel version. Could you check if the problem remains with the current devel version? Get it via darcs or use a recent snapshot (see wiki:devel for more info)

I too ran into this issue. I could have sworn I added a feature/bug about it. Anyway, the solution I came up with was to change the the button in the template.php to reference $conf['start'] instead. The assumption is that everyone should be able to have read access to the start page. This makes the button always do the ?do=check process to whatever the start page points to instead of whatever the current page is ($ID).
The problem is that it takes you back to the start page instead of leaving you on the page you tried to go to. I personally dont have an issue with that but it is a factor.

Hmm I can't reproduce the mentioned behaviour in the current devel version so I assume it to be fixed.
