FS#304 Include file extension set in config file
Customization
2005-05-05gowen
Could a setting be added to the config file to set the extension used for the include files (e.g. includes/footer.html) similar to the setting in phpBB. For my website I want to use php to generate dynamic content in the page heading. If a setting was present in the config I wouldn't need to edit the DokuWiki code in each release.
For instance if the config file contained: $conf['incExt'] = ".html"
and the html.php file would contain: <? @include("includes/topheader".$conf['incExt']); ?> in the html_header() function,
Then it would be simple to switch between html and php include files.
I would be happy to change and submit the code to darcs if you feel it would be beneficial to others.

PHP does not care for the extension of included files - just put your PHP code into the HTML files it will be executed just fine.
