The mail notification prefix the subject with the wiki title defined by $conf['title']. This is great but, when we choose a long title this make long subjects who can mask the page name or other valuable informations on a majority of mail clients.
We could use a new parameter to make this prefix independent from the wiki title, like a $conf['mailprefix']

Why not truncating the wiki title if it's too long. Question, what is too long?

Pushed a patch truncating the wiki title to its first 20 chars. I'm changing this issue to a feature request for further discussion on (yet) another config parameter.

Simple, on our wiki the title is "Documentation Ubuntu Francophone", for the mails this make a long subject like "[Documentation Ubuntu Francophone] page XXXXXXXXXX have changed" where a "[DocUbuntu] page XXXXXXX have changed" should be more readable.
20 chars is good, but don't let people choose an explicit prefix.

There is now a mailprefix setting to specify the subject of outgoing mails. See commit 5526795c. Thanks for the suggestion.
