Hi
seems that symlinks for gif files instead of actual gif files don't work when set up as interwiki icons.
The idea is to have several URL sharing the same icon. So, instead of having several copies of the same icon, have only one so when one wants to change them, it only changes one. The interwiki link that has the actual file with its name, has the icon set up correctly. The others, which have symlinks, do not.
An example:
3 lines from interwiki.conf
nucleotide
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/NM_{NAME}
pubmed
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term={NAME}
protein
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/protein/NP_{NAME}
ls -l of /lib/images/interwiki/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2010-07-01 20:36 nucleotide.gif -> interwiki/pubmed.gif
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 2010-07-01 20:43 protein.gif -> interwiki/pubmed.gif
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 255 2010-06-14 20:36 pubmed.gif
If you don't consider this a bug, please consider it a feature request. Thanks
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 server edition
