FS#1764 add <thead> to every appropriate table
CSS, XHTML, JS, Browsers
2009-10-01ach
For making long tables easier to print, it might be worth adding a table header (<thead>) to each appropriate table.
We don't need any new syntax here. We could just assume a table header makes sense whenever there are mostly only <th>s in the first row of a table (or maybe the second as well?). If people don't need <thead>s, at least they won't do any harm.

I think this is a good idea. Has any one done any work on this?
I worked around the lack of THEAD in the sortablejs plugin by just making (with javascript) the first row part of the table head, but that's because there's no way a table can be sorted without such a first row. But in general, I'd say that the first contiguous n rows that begin with THs should be called the THEAD (even if there are TD-only rows before it/them?)
I wonder what plugins would break if this was introduced? (I know sortablejs would, but it'd be simple to fix.)
