FS#1752 can't install on root folder due to '//' in path

Dear All,

It seems dokuwiki cannot be installed on root folders, and accessed through addresses like:

http://wiki.myname.org/install.php

Installation goes well with no error, but when I click on 'Continue to your new DokuWiki.', I've got a blank page.

The findbad.php file returns:

starting... //doku.php is not readable. //feed.php is not readable. //index.php is not readable. //install.php is not readable. ......

My install goes fine if on something like:
http://blah.myname.org/wiki/install.php

Is this a bug to report? At least some warnings could be added.

FYI, server is Debian, apache, PHP Version 4.4.9-1.standard. I'm on Firefox 3.5.2
