  While trying to set group ACLs -together with LDAP authentication- with names containing dash or hyphen, we noticed that this character is not understood by DokuWiki.
  
  For example, setting following ACL for group "@ci-g" does not work:
  
  *               @ci%2dg       1
  
  Digging in the code shows that ~dokuwiki/inc/utf8.php and ~dokuwiki/inc/parser/parser.php and ~dokuwiki/inc/auth.php -at least- should be modified to include support for "x2d" char.

  Is there any reason not to include support for dash and if not, would it be possible to include this support in the next DokuWiki releases ?

  Well I think this is a URL encoding problem some where in the ACL manager.
  
  Do you have problems that the group can't be matched against the LDAP group?
  
  If so, please change the %2d to - manually in acl.auth.php and try to test the right.

  Although absolutely unclear to us, we found that the above described issue is solved if the "sepchar" is set to  "-" (dash/hyphen) instead of the default "_" (underscore).
  With this setting there is no need to hack ~dokuwiki/inc/utf8.php, ~dokuwiki/inc/parser/parser.php and ~dokuwiki/inc/auth.php.
  
  The ACL setting for groups with hyphen/dash are now understood correctly (the "-" has to be urlencoded with "%2d")

  This seems to be an LDAP backend specific problem? Assigning a group foo-bar to a user and giving this group ACL permissions works fine with the plain backend.

  I just checked this bug with OpenLDAP and a current devel snapshot and cannot reproduce it. So I assume this fixed in current devel.
