I am not sure whether anyone else has already submitted something like this, but at least I have not found them. A team of people are using dokuwiki as a platform for writing a textbook. All members are sincere and in real names, and the team leader wants a small function to show a list of logged in users, so that they can start an instant chat when they know others are there.
Currently I have no ideas how to realize this. Thanks.

Tell me when you found the solution....am looking for exactly the same feature..
Maybe the Login/Logout logging plugin called "loglog" is a basic approch.
The log shows for everyone the users login/logout history...an therefore indirectly the present logins..,
(it shows the date/Timesamps too) but you have to RETRIEVE the information. Thats the Problem.
So it's not realy comfortable an not exactly brilliant for your purpose, but it helps a little bit,
and ist may be your idea...
A dynamic list or something near it, who shows by itself the current users names...yes, that would the hit of the spot.
Tell me....
