FS#1665 button-php.gif is unnecessarily an animated GIF which blinks in at least Qt WebKit based browsers
CSS, XHTML, JS, Browsers
2009-04-03XTaran
button-php.gif as in every default DokuWiki installation from Debian Lenny's 2008-05-05 up to what is running on DokuWiki.org now is unnecessarily an animated GIF which blinks in browsers with incomplete AnimGIF support, at least in the Qt WebKit based Arora as it's in Debian Lenny.
Gecko based browsers and MSIE display the animated button correctly. As do GTK WebKit based browsers like Midori (tested with Version in Debian Unstable). Neither Dillo nor Netsurf seem to be affected either.
So basically Qt WebKit seems to have broken AnimGIF support and displays subsequent images with a smaller size than the first image incorrectly.
Nobody else notices that this is an animated GIF because the second image doesn't change any pixel. So the animation in there is completely unnecessary and should be removed independently of the existence of browsers not capable of displaying AnimGIFs correctly.
How to repeat: Open this button in ImageMagick's "display" tool and you will see that it's an animated GIF.
The other buttons in the default footer seem fine with regards to this issue.
