Works for me
FS#1633 resizing of *.png images doesn't work in 2009-02-14 any more

Hi everyone
After upgrading a series of DokuWiki instances from release 2008-05-05 to 2009-02-14 the resizing of *.png images doesn't work any more.
If you resize *.jpg or *.gif images via DokuWiki Syntax (e.g. {{myImage.jpg?200}} ), there is no problem.
If you embed *.png images WITHOUT resizing them, there is no problem.
BUT if you embed a *.png image including some resizing instruction (e.g. {{myPNGimage.png?200}} ) it will not be displayed any more.
Our DokuWikis run on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. They all exhibit the phenomenon after the upgrade.
They have various plugins installed, but the plugins vary among the instances. So the likelihood is that it's not the plugins which cause the problem.
I also tested various settings for the GDLib Library and the ImageMagicks path. This didn't help.
We would be grateful for any pointers as to where we might tweak the PHP-code so that this resizing works again.
Cheers, bci

Hello,
please have a look at: FS#1671 "Fatal error: Cannot redeclare is_mem_available() (prev. decl. in fetch.php:442) in common.php:1438 "
It may the same problem - I've posted a Bug-Fix that works for me.
Regards
Marc

I can not reproduce this. Since you tried it with libGD and imagemagick it sounds like your initial PNG file might be broken? Try resizing one of your files with imagemagick on the command line to see if it produces any errors.

I was having this problem also, and it turned out that the problem was indeed that the PNG file was broken ("Too many IDAT's found"). I re-saved the image with Gimp, and all was well.
