FS#15 Page Rename.
Backend
2005-01-12
Reason: Be able to rename pages when hosting service doesn’t allow shell commands to be executed by users.

Alternative approach (to keep obsolete URL still valid) would be some support for redirection. Like if the page contains only link to other wiki-page and nothing else, dokuwiki would automatically redirect browser to that page:
old_page.txt:
[[new_page]]

I've written a module to implement page renaming and moving to a new namespace. It does a backlink search and modifies those pages to point to the renamed and/or moved page. If the page is moved to a new namespace any page or media links it contains are updated to maintain the pages integrity. The system is integrated with the access control system. In order to move the page you must have create rights in the target namespace and you must have edit rights on all the backlinks. As with the official release it does not handle CamelCase links or ignore those inside code blocks.
I've tried to integrate the system seamlessly into DokuWiki using the same coding style, the language system and as many of the existing functions as I can. I've you are interested I could submit it to darcs. It was built on the last release so I need to integrate it into the development code. Apart from that it is ready to go.

I'm really interested in your plugin. I'd love to see it implemented.
Please, do submit it ! :)

If you're still about and have the code, I would be interested in seeing/integrating it with a plugin I am putting together - a house-keeper admin plugin. One of the functions I have slated for inclusion is page renaming.
