I have been running the 2004-11-10 version and installed the 2005-02-06 version. To do this I created a new directory for the ‘05 version, installed the software, copied over my /data directory and edited the conf/dokuwiki.php file. Next, I installed dokuwiki-convert and ran it.
Everything seems to be okay with the new version except for tables. Any tables that I created earlier are now not rendering as tables. The mark-up characters are being supressed but no borders are being created. Any new tables created within an existing document do not render as tables.
As a test I created a new virtual-host to create a completely new instance of dokuwiki. On it the tables render correctly. So it would seem a problem exists for me with converted docs. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Can you send me one of these unconverted files for testing? Which characterset did you use in the old version?

Your last question gave me the tip that I needed to fix the problem. I'm running this on CentOS (a RHEL 3 clone), which already uses the UTF-8 encoding. So I don't need to run the converter (at least, I don't think I do.)
The fix was to simply copy the files over from my original data/ directory to the new data/ directory, touch changes.log in the document root directory, update conf/dokuwiki.php, and assign ownership of the directory to apache. No conversion required and everything works fine.
Thanks very much for a great product, Andreas!
