FS#1295 External link icon does not appear if text wraps in IE
CSS, XHTML, JS, Browsers
The web icon that indicates an external link does NOT appear if (and only if) the link text "wraps" in the browser, and only in IE, not Opera or Firefox. (I tested with IE7.)
Although I'm testing in devel, I believe this occurs in release DW as well.
More specifically, I find that this also only occurs when the link is not at the beginning of the line. The icon sometimes partially appears as it is shifted to the left, "under" the characters which preceed the link.
To reproduce a partially visible (shifted) icon, try this on a line by itself, with the leading dot:
.[[http://bugs.splitbrain.org|Link Which Wraps Easily Becaus It Has A Very Very Long Name With Embedded Spaces Within It And Does Not Regularly Occur In Real Life]].
It's a well known bug in IE. There is just one solution: use a better browser ;-)
