FS#1120 [bug, syntax] Nested lists bad behaviour
Syntax
2007-04-19Xan
When we typed nested lists, dokuwiki does not continue the number of previous item.
Let me explain you with examples:
The code:
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item
- Threee
produces:
1. One
2. Two
* One item
* Two item
3. Three
and the code:
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item
- one
produces:
1. One
2. Two
* One item
* Two item
1. One
It's correct,because we have empty line between items at the same level
But when we type:
***********************
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item
hello I'm a text line
- Threee
**********************
or
*********************
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item
hello I'm a text line
- Threee
*************************
or
************************
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item
hello I'm a text line
- Threee
***********************
we have the same output:
1. One
2. Two
* One item
* Two item
hello I'm a text line
1. One
but _it's not the same_: clearly the second or third possibility have to show us this output, but the first not: we have not empty line text between items at the same level, so the users think that the item is from the previous lists
Could you solve this behaviour?
good if you do!!!
Thank you very much,
Xan.

This has nothing to do with nested lists. Linebreaks are simply not supported in list items. The correct syntax would be:
- One
- Two
* One item
* Two item\\ hello I'm a text line
- Threee

But as "\\hello I'm a text line" is really "[return]hello I'm text" line maybe you could support it in list items. The reason is that it's more easy to type a return than "\\". I think it's more intuitive for desktop users (I received more request for that)
Perhaps you could consider it as feature-request, so
