Hallo,
I was very charmed of dokuwiki, BUT at a special moment I could login as administator and edit users and other administrative things but I could
not edit ANY page anymore, only viewing of source was possible.
At my webhoster occured files and directories, which could not removed by using (as owner) a ftp-client (Filezilla). chomod delivered: . I had to inform the webhoster to remove files and directories.
E.g. even chmod was not possible anymore??!!
History:
The website worked properly for about 3 weeks ... than trying to show the working wiki bekame impossible (even as admin), editing was not possible ...
Deleting the whole dokuwiki-directory was only partially possible. A number of files in the data-directory could not be removed by myself.
Because I used the wiki (downloaded to my PC) locally (XAMPP) the upload failed (a lot of errors) and as admin, the administrative tasks could
not be done ...
If there is a good explanation of this I would like to use the dokuwiki furtheron, but without ...
I would like to get the reason of this behavior
Greetings

It sounds like the file permissions became altered/corrupted. I haven't heard of DokuWiki causing that to happen. Do you have any record of what the permissions were and who the owner/groups were. These may give a clue as to whether it was the webserver or something else that made the changes.

Owner/group became Apache Apache chmod code -rw-r--r--
Sorry, I just changed Filezilla to shwo Owner and group ... I will see if I kan let a *.php file change it back to 'me'
And or delete it ...
Or is there a possibility to tell the script NOT to change Owner and or group but to use 'me' (the real owner?)
Thanks for responding Chris!

Apparently this is no DokuWiki bug, but an admin issue; DokuWiki should handle permissions correctly.
