FS#1034 uname -a
Syntax
2007-01-01micmath
Enter the text "uname -a" into an "edit this page" box, and you get a "406 Not Acceptable" error from the apache server. I'm trying to document some bash code, but it is impossible to put that particular string of characters into my wiki? Slight variations work, like "uname", "uname -9" and "zname -a". Wrapping the text in the "nowiki" tag doesn't make a difference.

Have you tried this at splitbrain or any other DokuWiki installation?
This appears to be caused (purposely) by a configuration of my shared hosting environment. I tried a few other Unixish commands and got the same "406 Not Acceptable" response. For example trying to add the string "cat /etc/passwd" to my wiki fails in the same way. Obviously my hosting provider is OTT paranoid and using the mod_security apache module to filter such strings out of all posts.
Oh well, time to find a new host. But thanks for taking the time to look into this. Dokuwiki is a great piece of software.
