Oddmuse offers a smart feature to support translations in multi-lingual wikis. Consider you have a wiki page [[Image Extension]]; if there is e.g. a german translation of this page [[Bilder Erweiterung]], it would include the following tag:
<translation [[Image Extension]] 3>
The number 3 is the revision number of the original page which the translation is referring to.
When displaying the translated page, Oddmuse will compare the revision number with the current revision of [[Image Extension]] and will either display only a message indicating that this is a translation of the given page or -- if the current revision of the original page does not match the number in the translation tag -- it will additionally display a message saying that the translation might be outdated.
See
http://www.oddmuse.org/cgi-bin/wiki/Translation_Extension for details.
I would love to see this feature in dokuwiki because it would make it very suitable for multilingual manuals. I am not sure however about the revision number. With Oddmuse, you can easily find the revision number for a page. 'Old revisions' in DokuWiki however does not indicate these.
