FS#1006 Links with a trailing colon or slash have an inconsistent title.
Syntax
2006-12-16Selkirk
the link [[foo:]] has a title of "foo". When useslash is enabled [[foo/]] has a title of "start".
This discrepancy can be resolved by removing
$name = rtrim($name,':');
from the _simpleTitle method in xhtml.php.
Doing so will cause both link forms to have the same title: "start".

I confirm quite what you write: [[foo:]] in a page is rendered as foo with a link to id=foo:start and title foo:start when mouse is over the link. With useslash, [[foo/]] in a page is rendered as start with a link to id=users and title identical. Rendering and linking are both wrong. Your suggested change is not what we need: [[foo/]] form should behave the same way as [[foo:]] form.
Namespace autolinking is broken with useslash. This affects release 2006-11-06 and current darcs revision
