I use Version 2008-05-05 and since there is a new version release I have 2 little messages at the top of my page. One as expected that shows me the new 2009-02-14 release and another unexpected that shows me the last release-candidate 2.

There should only one.

I see the same problem.

You can manually edit some file to make those messages go away.

I don't remember where I have seen the instructions for that.

This is the intended behaviour. All messages since your last upgrade will be shown, this should give people more incentive to upgrade really outdated installations ;-)
